Back into the zone

First off, i'm talking bout diet, exercise... no that kind of zone is still beyond-ish me.

Back into the zone.. and totally hooked!!!!! (how much longer can i last?)

I'm playing my new game, which james surprised me with. He knows what i like. Its really special when he brings me home a video game without finding one for himself. hahahaha

The new game is harvest Moon for my DS.

Harvest moon is a game that ive played over the past 8years? Every so often a new version would come out or you'd get the one thats new to the console. So i played one on the old playstation 1, the playstation 2 and now the ds version. Fine its only 3. But its a H-U-G-E game, never really finished it. But then for me, i did finish it in that my character got married, had a kid got all the upgrades.. so yeah

Harvest Moon on the DS is great. However the stylus is very under used. The biggest pain is in your rucksack you have all your items, tools, ores, accessories. Whatever you havent put away in your tool box etc. And when you harvest a whole crop, of say onions. theres 8 onions, they all go on top of each other. which is great it means 8 onions is only taking up 1 spot, not 8. But the pain comes when you want to give one away as a present. not 8, just 1. i havent quite worked it out other than it requires tapping the stylus like a nutter on the screen. x.x ugh

In Harvest Moon, your a young single adult male. Your on a quest to make your family proud. Build a profitable farm, seasonal crops, ducks, chickens, cows, sheep,a horse, a cat, a dog. With that you have seasons to deal with, ground to turn over, seedlings and plants to water each day (no water restrictions! hahaha) snow storms that keep you inside (usually back to bed) to survey any damage the next day. The products of your animals, milk, eggs, cheese, yogurt, mayo, wool(sheared), yarn. Cows and sheep to make pregnant (potion-a-la-pregnancy) chickens and their eggs go in the hatchery for more chickens.
then theres the tv channels, in this one they need to be unlocked thru hard work. argh! The channels are usually; tutorial, weather, shopping. However in this version there are alot more channels!
In this version (im getting exhausted just explaining) you build all the sheds minus the horse house. Theres a silo, poultry shed, livestock shed, pond, mushroom shed, basement. These usually take alot, alot of gold. And then theres the collecting or buying (ow) the hay/wood/stone whatever your building it out of. Which requires either growing grass for the hay. Chopping sticks or stumps for wood, stone houses require using the hammer to break stones. (is this the right time to mention you are partially human in this game. You have a fatigue and stamina which when you exhaust.. well just that you pass out... and some nice person drags you home.
Various House upgrades like kitchen, bathroom and a big bed (required before you get married)

Oh yeah, and when you have that time... try and fit in a life. Women! Gah!!! Each girl is different, different families, different locations, different likes/dislikes when it comes to gifts. Theres a guy in the town already chasing them your 'rivals'. You can do stuff to make them dislike you, there are different heart levels depending on how fond they are of you (showing off all your hard work) Theres town bloody festivals, different dates thru the year. You dont have to go to them, but all the shops are closed, the people are all at the event.. nothing gets sold, nothing gets built, upgraded.. however the farm goes on, it must be kept after! If you want to go, you'd better have the animals fed, brushed, milked, sheared. The crops watered, harvested.. *gah*

In the winter, it snows. Nothing grows, the trees go dormant... the animals still need their care. But this gives a much needed break to get out to the girls, festivals and the mine. Mine? Oh yes the mines.. i now have 3 mines in total to conquer (get to the bottom of) without passing out.. taking alot of save/loads, alot of energy drinks, alot of food. And theres alot to collect, depending on the mine. Either ores to upgrade your tools once youve used them enough. Jewelery to give to the girls, creams etc strangely enough for the girls, gems to sell or give away like ruby, topaz and all important diamonds. your using your hoe and the hammer in here! Theres also animals that don't like you that you need to wipe out. in the mine theres holes (where u can fall 1-3-10 or 100 levels) falling 1 or 3 levels is fine.. i dont know about 10.. not sure if ive done it yet. Or you can find the stairs using the hoe. Mine 1 has 10 levels.. the others have INSANE amount of levels.

Ive got targets to meet to unlock harvest sprites (oompa-loompas/gnomes) who i can hire to help me out on the farm. yee-ha for hired help!

*yawn* yup now im feeling sleepy....
(are you tired yet?)

DH 30th Birthday

it went well yesterday. I got a call early in the morning from DH telling me how his office was decorated with metallic big paper cut-outs of 30's everywhere, a cluster of balloons with the number 30.

Tia and i? well we were off to the beach, but we had to go to go-lo or reject shop to find a cheap bucket n spade for the beach!

Tia was sooo very happy and excited she was going to the beach! So i used a few times to remind her to behave.. or maybe i used it as a threat! hahaha!

We had to get home to order pizza online to arrive for DH lunch. DH asked me later how the pizza person knew it was his birthday and i said i had the name for the order as 'birthday boy' hahaha!

He had cake at his work that the boss's wife had made! (he bought home 2 pieces for Tia and i) I havent tried it yet, but its a orange and poppyseed with a strawberry and chocolate on top of the icing.

When we got home, i played some video games, cleaned the house, put tia in the bath. Then told her to get ready for DH birthday party and helped her into a cute dress. ;)

I put the bought yum-cha in the oven, started on a beef stirfry. I made sure we had some nice sauces for the yum cha, sweet chilli and plum sauce! I love my plum sauce. Unfortunately only the spring rolls did not contain fish or shrimp! Tia loved it, DH loved it. All good! ;)

I decided i'd do something light for DH birthday dessert/cake, i knew he was having cake thru the day, i knew i didnt want to be stressed or in the kitchen all day and i knew i didnt want anything 'heavy'. So i decided on a pav/meringue thing, i did have egg whites in the fridge BUT i dont have a electric beater, so i decided to be lazy and buy some nests all done! After dinner i decided to keep with the birthday cake tradition and so i put this interesting thing together with toothpicks, however they did crack it did hold altogether for as long as it needed to! I decided on caramel top n fill, since hubby isnt into berries that much.. he is a BIG caramel fan tho.
So i was surprised with Nestle top n fill caramel!(hadn't tried it before) i could pipe it! woohoo! And it tasted exactly 100% like the caramel filling from a bakers for caramel tarts or caramel eclairs etc. It was gorgeous! Its so deadly! I could so live on it! lol! only its not very kind calorie/fat wise! He blew out his candles, dished it out and put some double cream on top! yum!
DH got for his birthday: slippers with mario (a Nintendo character) on them(which he then told me he doesnt like slippers), A bottle of Galliano Amaretto & The godfather blackhand edition game for the wii. (he bought himself the game tenchu z for the xbox 360) and thats about it.

Having a mummy moment

Hmm lets start yesterday where it was mostly a mummy/mommy moment filled day.. (as in a dumb moment)

Decided i would go to the bank and deposit my birthday money a cheque from my grand parents! woohoo! only for the life of me, (and without the normal bank book u get, we didnt with this account) so i went in and said i needed to deposit it but didnt know how and so filled it out at the counter (holding up the line.. meh!) she said i didnt need my bsb and acc number and i could use my card if i just put in my pin... im like 'yeah about that, i lost the paper before i remembered what the number was' lucky i brought along my acc details! phew! then i had to go wait in a different line and they let me choose my pin, put it on my card and checked that it worked and hey presto now i can use my atm card for the first time! (can give back hubbys atm card!)

Tia was a absolute pain, oh i wish i didnt care how much people gave me looks.. wish i had more guts to discipline Tia in front of people! I spent so long going from shop to shop looking at makeup, since my anti-glob mascara has turned globby.. and Tia loved touching all the eyeshadows and powders and putting them on her cheeks.. it was a mess she called it 'beautiful' and i told her to look in the mirror and she taken aback the first time and agreed to take it off and then went back to putting more back on and then insisted that it was 'beautiful' *sigh* and then she was determined on not leaving until she had more 'beautiful' (eyeshadows... etc)
Considering i find it impossible to not make a decision quickly (unless impulse buying) i think i will pick a brand and stick to it.. looking at everything else, their specials, freebies etc.. frazzles me and gives Tia more time to get attached to playing with makeup and thus wanting to take it all home too. I usually HATE spending that much on something so trivial as makeup, but i thought id stop being such a tight arse and buy it in a act of faith (along with a eyeshadow in this funky pot) (buy one get 50% the 2nd)

back to mummy moments.. i had the birthday cards and a block of chocolate ready to send to my brothers & dad but i forgot the address so i brought it all home again! doh! And i couldnt find a happy fathers day card anywhere! damnit!

The house cage inspection lasted for a total of 2 minutes, i put so much time into making the house cage wonderful for the lady to poke her nose in and out again and she left with a promise of a plumber! (yeah i wont hold my breath) to fix the leaky tap and the forever dribbling toilet.. she left and i proceded to un-pack the place back to its former messy glory.

Glad everyone had fun with talk like a pirate day!! ^^

today, Tia went to childcare.. i secretly envied the mums holding the kids that dont want mum to go.. i just want Tia to miss me once, to bounce up and down when she sees me again.. instead of running away from me going to one play thing to the other.. LOL!

While Tia was at childcare i went and did the washing. I did a clothes and a towels (seperately) load of washing down at the laundrymat.. being a tight arse and not wanting to hog 3 washing machines (even tho the place was empty) i decided to try out the frangipani fab that Tina talked about.. only i had bad flash backs.. and yeah i got white powdery marks over most things the last time i used it, so today i used even less and got it even worse! argh! I dont get it, i think the machines down at the laundrymat really suck, they arent at all gentle! (i had forgotten my Nintendo DS, my T3 and my book so i was so bored!)Liquid clothes detergent-stuff is much forgiving, i usually use the sensitive skin amolin one.. I know i shouldn't overload the washing machiene but ah well... i came home and gave most of the clothes a wipe down with a damp sponge to remove the white/powdery marks.. maybe i should look at the scoop and see if theres a mark much lower on the scoop..

My abs are much better, i think im all healed up. doing the abs again yesterday relieved a ton of the pain.. which is good.. did butt n abs already again today. And ive been yawning since midday! Think i might have a early night.. boo hoo! Im getting old!

Did that cupcake catch your eye? It comes from this wonderful cupcake-maker-blogger that i lurk around on.. "Cupcake Bakeshop by Chockylit" Some good recipes and interesting cupcake stuff there! (free-plug there for the sake of stealing that lovely picture and having it on my blog)

big brain academy training nintendo DS

Review: Games that make people think are quite popular lately!
The ultimate function is the test, which randomly choses 1 mini game from each class; think, analyze, compute, memorize & identify and then comes up with how much your brain weighs, a grade and what occupation your brain suits. Right now mine is a C+ a musician at 1032g!

(i've been dumber e.g a fashion designer, Shakespeare! lolz) Each class/lesson comes in 3 difficulty options, easy, med and hard. Medals are rewarded for different scores bronze, silver, gold and platinum. I find this game quite a challenge and i suck at the maths compute and think classes, but i can ace the memorize and identify. im pretty sure, if u look in the blue hexagon, you can see a yellow line? thats my highest score outline and the red area in the hexagon was my current score for that exam ><
