Cadbury whinge & berry panacotta review

So Cadbury has decided to lower their standard of chocolate & the weights. (but charge us the same) Its that not-so-new thing that companies do to get a bit more profit in their pockets.

I did some investigating on the old cadbury and new the cadbury.

I can tell you that the new cadbury family blocks of chocolate with more added vegetable fat come in harder card boxes. Instead of the old paper wrapping. (which i still think is better.. made of less tree, takes less space in the recycling bin)

I can tell you that old cadbury did have vegetable fat in the ingrediants but it was listed as 5th ingrediant after milk solids, sugar, cocoa butter, cocoa -something, *vegetable fat

the new family blocks of chocolate it is listed as the 3rd ingrediant milk solids, sugar, *vegetable fat.

However the amount of milk chocolate solids is both the same 70%?. i think i was looking at Cadbury almonds & cadbury desserts creme brulee..

I can tell you that coles has cadbury on special this week (2 for $6), as does woolworths ($3.49?) and k-mart has only the old family blocks for $3.20. (whatever the instore stock is) K-mart the new and less chocolate family blocks you will pay up $4.00.

The desserts old range was 235g and is now 200g. The Norm family blocks was 250g and now 220-210 depending on plain vs almond etc? (i think)

I can tell you that its not just the purple wrapping/now boxed family blocks that are suffering the downsizing-yet-price-the-same. Cadbury's range of Old Gold chocolate is also affected.

I can also tell you that Lindt chocolate has no vegetable fat whatsoever that i could see!!!! :)

Cadbury argue that the tasters said the fat improved the flavour and made it easier to bite (i didnt think we were a nation of denture wearers) It does make it easier to snap off a piece from the block. However when i did so to the berry panacotta from their deserts range i ended up with 2 pieces.. i had the bottom layer square of choc with the filling and the top shell.. something that hasn't happened before.. might just be me but it screams "CHEAP!!!!" to me!

With cadbury now being easier to snap off, bite or what have you... i am wondering of the party game used at parties, classrooms, youth etc. The game where you roll a die and then you can chop using a knife and fork only those pieces off one at a time. For older teens a 30sec time limit is given or so and no matter what you roll you will always get one piece!

Also i have to think... you add more fat to a block of chocolate.. surely that ups the fat content and people would less likely buy it? hmmm

and the fact that we have long hot insufferable summers!! Climate change people would argue, that with the increase of temperatures. Not to mention the on-going above average heat waves during summer etc. That Australia would have one of the hardest chocolate family blocks to combat the heat!

The berry panacotta Cadbury dessert family block was uber sweet. More sugar than berry... but was expected after trying what they considered "tiramisu" & "creme brulee". Both girls loved it. Was addictive... not sure i'd buy it again honestly.. so full of sugar, melted quickly when held (at norm body temp. its pretty cold at the moment)

Cadbury Chocolate Desserts range

Been eating into the new blocks of cadbury chocolate Desserts range.. whether its the stress of shopping with tia, the huge want/cravings of chocolate or the fact of the blocks of chocolate being on 'special' for the past 2 weeks or new chocolate.. who knows. (i also read that if u eat chocolate while pregnant that you will have a happy baby.. lol..)
Anyways ive eaten (with some help) 2 blocks of it already.. and only got the 3rd new block today!
Just trying to find pictures of them now. the cadbury website has no mention of the 'desserts' range.. and it looks like some of the range has been around for awhile (as in last year) but its still got 'new' on all the blocks here in victoria! And theres a few other flavours around that we dont have like boysenberry, banoffie pie, lemon cheesecake(um ew?)

The Fudge brownie block was disappointing.. (much like the other reviews ive read) It tastes like your average piece of chocolate with a grainy, sugar-ish textured filling... it should be labeled 'fudge brownie uncooked' i would have preferred the filling not to be gluggy.. a turn off really.

The Creme Brulee was amazing. It had tiny bits of caramel-ish toffee, in a somewhat icing-ish textured filling. It was milky, caramel, sweet and toffee tasting. This one i had to share alot.. as it was liked ALOT!!!!! however eating to much of it over 2 days i have ruined it and now feel ill thinking about eating it again.

The Tiramisu is quite nice.. not amazing, not bad either... however like the description says 'coffee creme filling' its exactly that.. it may as well be called coffee chocolate. Tiramisu kinda gives the thoughts of espresso coffee, a touch of liquer, harsh cocoa and a wee bit of cream and sweetness..(and of course LAYERS?!!!!) however its just a sweet coffee cream. same texture as creme brulee(but without the toffee of course)

I just saw the add for these 3 last night and they are still saying they are 'new'. I did notice that the packaging to the brownie fudge block is different and makes more sense than a chocolate looking tart on the old wrappers ive seen on the net.

A great weekend!

started on saturday, i was itching to leave.. early.. but no we left on time.
Got into the city, got off at central. remembered what street the hotel was on, william st! and that is errr where? all i could remember was flagstaff station (inconveniently closed on weekends) flagstaff gardens was opposite and it was north of chinatown. Hubby was happy and kept saying that if he saw the map where it was we would have no problems getting there. lol.. so it took some walking, some consulting of those handy map poles and a long walk.. but we got there
Darn the batteries are flat in the camera! Discovered this on the walk.. Went up to the top 10th floor.. ah luxury!!! What a room! and a real bed! 2 tvs.. hot chocolate, decaff, coffee all waiting to be used or taken home.. hahahaha
But wait... theres wine in a ice bucket and a ox of chocolates.. that wasnt planned.. lucky theres a card.. and gosh its a card from hubbys boss and his wife congratulating us on a year in melbourne!
I dont think we are still over that, how superbly generous and kind.. wow.. i guess the chocolates are for me? i claim them anyways ;) lol
After hubby has a few drinks we go and get some batteries, walk around the place. Checked out minotaur and the sanrio shop! Were im flustered is it being surrounded by hello kitty everything or the prices? $40 for a hello kitty shopping bag?!! i settle for a $8.50 lanyard for my keys and $8.50 on 2 hello kitty hair clips and 2 hello kitty hair ties.. OW! But wait ive already got $7 store credit on my HK membership card!!! whoot! perhaps every $10 spent i get $1 store credit.. awesome..
back to the hotel room with batteries, hello kitty stuff! and sore feet..
Thinking of dinner, not wanting to go far by now.. hmm lets have room service.. lol. never done that before! My lasagna n chips i felt ripped off, where was the belchamel(sp?) sauce? it was just layers of sheets n meat with shavings of parmasan(sp? stinky cheese) cheese. the chips, were amazing! No joke.. Hubbys fish n chips was whiting fillets bout 5 of them pretty small with chips, lemon, tomatoe sauce and some other mayonaise-ish mustardy sauce.
That night we watched foxtel for some reason.. and then went upstairs and checked out the small gym and the spa/pool.. and had a great time. Came back to the room and put tia to bed..
i got in our spa bath, but turned it off as it was noisy and im over the whole spa thing by now.
Into bed and asleep..

next morning we went to the queen victoria markets, which we havent done before. It was massive, always repeating and tiring. *yawn* we went pretty early and by the time we were leaving it was starting to get busy! i found a stall selling churros and got one for all of us... we then tried in vain not to get our clothes covered in icing sugar. doh! Found a stall that was selling fudge! OHMYGOSH! real fudge! And how many flavours?! crikey!!! I got one $3.50 caramel.. Watched the suga factory people make some lollies and found a present for the boss. Rock candy with the words 'thank you' inside.. it was great fun, some of the t-shirts were funny, but you can get those.. also got a awesome heat pack that once i saw was different to the ones u just microwave i had to have it! ;) And hubby has taken it to work today, to show people..

Then it was off to breakfast, magnation on elizabeth st, a games shop, chinatown and the crowds. I was disapointed, perhaps by the time we got there it was 12, last year i thought the lion dances were around 12-1pm, this year they seemed to be earlier. Still there was dragons, massive dragon and lots of lions dancing around and a crowd that followed them everywhere. Dont forget the loudness of the fire crackers ouch! The markets up the top were a joke. this year it seems they were mainly just from banks and boring companies.. the joke was that it being on the road. there was a massive amount of dangerous crowds pushed next to the markets so one lane of the road could be kept open for those to use the car park!!! i kid you not.. the space you get to walk/squeeze thru is about 2m wide. im so glad people didnt get trampled to death! we got out of that quickly, what i thought was quickly but we had not gotten far at all.. i was really pissed at how rude people were considering we had tia. So hubby stayed with our stuff and tia and i went off to get some footage of lions and dragons.. and fire crackers..
it was great, loud and im about to really get nasty at the next person who decides to interfere in my personal space.. as it turns out i didnt have too. Im watching kids making paper lotus flowers with a incense stick i was given when this lady does so and ends up wearing the end of my incense stick ash, stupid woman! It put it out alright, i thinking that might have burnt.. she notices on her red (meant to be lucky) t-shirt that it has ash on it now.. including the black ash.. i cant stop thinking of how dumb she was.. and glad that God gets his own back without us having to do anything..
we found the sonic manipulator guy, getting ready and straight up asked for his cd. i think he was kinda shocked about that, but i did say the next time i saw him we would get his cd.
after that we are walking back to the hotel and then to southern cross station to get a train back home. What a day! Used the heat pack on the train home on my back, hips and knees... got home and went and had a nap. Hubby woke me in time to watch the biggest looser, awww...

Life...

A update on how things are going. :)

On friday, Tia and I went to the beach in the afternoon for a few hours. I bought a $4 inflatable ring for her to play with, that took some figuring out on how to blow up the cheap ring! She loved playing with it. It was low tide, so she spent alot of time playing in the muddy sand in between a small pool of water stuck due to the sand and the tide all the way out. We had alot of fun towards the end, rolled up my pants and took her into where the beach was. Had her lay on her back on top of the ring, she loved it, just floating around being pushed by the waves. Whats odd coming from one who hates getting water on/in her eyes.. is what she enjoyed most when there was a bit of a tiny tiny surf (but the most ive ever seen at frankston) basically she rode the waves (like a metre away from where we were in the water) onto the sand where the waves ended on the increasing shore line (as the tide decided to come in) and splash on her, true thats how you end up with sand in your bathers.. but she wasnt thinking of that! she loved it..
I put sunscreen on my feet when we got there (thought the socks n shoes might rub it off on the walk?) and then was the only thing i re-applied sunscreen to half way thru the time we were there! lol! i think im paranoid over getting sun burnt feet again!

We have been waiting for the bengal kittens to arrive at the pet shop, i wonder what they will look like?

Had a place to move into in mind, its not available till saturday. I hate when you ring up a real estate agent that they promise to call you back and then they dont.. or you speak to the head receptionist of non-big brand rental real estate companies who never know whats going on..
But now ive got doubts on whether its close enough to a school, wary that im putting all my eggs into 1 basket when the photos online are 7 years old? isnt great to have time stamped photos.. lazy real estate people. That and why do some places have photos of the kitchen and the back yard or something but not the bedrooms? ugh..

Ive had some days where i feel completely zapped of energy at the drop of a hat.. feeling like i could so go back to sleep before lunch! ha!
(my collection of polish chocolates)
I found a new awesome deli and import shop, that stocks alot of polish chocolates and other euopean (i say that coz i cant read it except that its european) stuff. Like i think i found german mushroom paste! lol! I also found some kinda local ginger creamed honey for $6 a jar. Oh how i missed ginger honey! lol! I also noticed a tin of hungarian? poppy seed filling.. false positive opiate drug test here i.. nah i didnt get it.. I got some polish gingerbread covered in chocolate biscuits, OMG ive never had gingerbread that reminded me more like marshmallow it was so light, puffy and wow. ^^ thumbs up to kopernik! WOW! i walked out of there with chocolates and honey! lol!.. interesting shopping trip dont you think

i looked up babies crying on youtube to show tia, that altho the baby is very quiet now its going to be very noisy. i came across this cute little funny cry. she is sooo cute.. i looked up births on youtube also, but felt anxious and a tad disturbed afterwards..

6 days till christmas

Yup! Its under a week to go now!! Gosh!!!
Hubby finishes work well thursday, friday he will go to work (get paid etc) but everyone is cleaning the place and then theres the work sausage sizzle party at lunch.. and then home?
For work people im making like the picture above altho they are rocky road christmas tree chocolates i will be making cherry ripe chocolate trees. I think its better to do the cherry ripe snack size in the choc mix along with some coconut & glace cherries. Im not sure everyone would like what they suggest; marshmallows, peanuts & turkish delight. I've never been a big fan of turkish delight! bleh! Hahaha *just thought of lion witch and the wardrobe*

oh noes.. theres even a song about turkish delight.. lol.. enjoy!

and another thing i cant stop thinking about. I love victoria secret shows! i like some of the underwear but seriously screw that i want them to sell wings! LOL! check out the star at the end worn by heidi klum.. I enjoyed it probably more this year (not due to the spice girls, bleh!) but to the aussie on the show our Miranda kerr.. i remember it was when i was in highschool that she entered the dolly model contest and won! At that age none of us worked or got enough allowance to buy the magazines to we were always in the highschool library reading all the dolly and girlfriend magazines! wow we were dorks!! giggling over the dolly doctor and sealed sections.. its scary to think back to that section and realise how many girls out there have no idea about sex, stds etc.. and yet they are being sexually active.. yikes.. anyways back to the show, the wings, the pretty long legs and long hair... hahahaha!! i thought the christmas section was heaps funny! lol! (its a shame not all of the christmas section is in that vid)

anyways ive got some chocolate making to do and perhaps i will make a cheese ball tomorrow ;)

Another great chocolate trip.. i mean city trip ;)

What a day! Im glad to be absolutely energy-less! :D
We missed our train that would have gotten us there on time, it seems they have put more trains on in the morning (as usually there was a train 1 hr after that one) so there was only a 15 minute gap between the one we missed and the one we got on! (which was waiting already) The morning was awesome! Windy, cold-ish and some light rain! What a break from the heat and sun!

Got in and waited for the other special people to arrive, read in a directory about the clock how it does this marionette opening thing on the hour. maria and jenna arrived and we waited for the clock thing.. and so was 2 different school groups and other tourists.. it was 3 minutes late! funny!Off to the usual chocolate feast place, max brenners. Jenna had a Popsicle fondue (very interesting!) Maria had a 1/2 or 1/4 strength cappuccino in a kangaroo mug, it has a extra pouch at the side of the mug where melted chocolate can be licked.(photo below) (Tia had a milk hot chocolate (which i didnt actually ask for, but oh well.. she can consider herself spoilt for the day) and a chocolate lick now $2.20 (gone up 20c)I had a dark chocolate mocha which was rather on the dark bitter side than i expected and a rich brownie(which the waiter forgot about til i said i was still waiting on it, she still did a good job remembering our order off the top of her head, how many times did we test her? lol).
Tia enjoying the ribbons from the presents Maria & Jenna gave us! Also wearing her funky necklaces that she got! *forgot to try out the torch tonight, will have to try it tomorrow. ;)Maria and I!
Presents i received. YAY! presents! =D Much appreciated! A Tea towel with christmas theme, (we have survived with only 2 tea towels all year.. lol!) a purrrty basket with mini christmas puddings inside, a good health magazine (which i thought would be great to read on the trip home, but spent more time pointing at 2 pages that were 100kj & 400kj with tia pointing out chocolate, chips, strawberry, cheese, sushi etc lol!) a sample of some special baby bath stuff and some stickers! whoot! ;)

A trip to krispy kreme while the queue was short picked up a chocolate glazed creme filled, to share with hubby.Breadtop for lunch! Wishing there was a local one! Love their little buns, rolls, donuts not keen on pork floss buns or chicken & mushroom donut lol! But they have alot of yummy stuff. Also decided to pick up for later. Some choc chip buns & some Red bean Mochi.Central Groceries? Is the asian imports grocery shop where i stock up on mens pocky and look at the daifuku & other mochi (made in taiwan tho, i rather either Japan or Aussie made.. picky arent i)
A visit to L'Occitane, came across a Honey Massage nectar.
Light and soothing. Blend of propolis, royal jelly and honey from Provençal hives soothes; linden extract and bisabolol extract calm and help reduce irritation. Natural honey aroma pleases the senses. Use as a comforting massage lotion or as a body lotion. Suitable for adults and children ages three and up.
On my wish list! Not oily which is great, i hate giving a massage only to get oily hands and think about how terrible it is for hubbys skin.. especially if he falls asleep. Smells good, not over bearing like some cheap stuff!

It was great day! In L'Occitane Tia was asked if jenna was her sister, lol! And after that Tia was very happy to call jenna 'sister'. Tia cried when went to go home on the train, she wanted her sister! lol! Very cute.

Now to get some sleep... Night all! ;)

getting behind in my photos!

So i said i hadn't cooked in like 3 days? or more..
these were taken last month. =D so they are old, but still yummy.
1) roast beef, potatoes & carrots.

2) Chocolate self sauce pudding (i always mix with the recipe so i get more cake and less sauce and i also put more cocoa so it doesnt just taste like brown sugar & water glue!

3) Tiramisu= coffee, chocolate, biscuit, macarpone & cream YUM!
We have My grandparents visiting from canberra tomorrow, so Tia will get to spend some time with her great grandparents! So thats what we will be doing on melbourne cup day!
Im not into gambling, and not interested in melbourne cup day other than its a public holiday down here! YAY!!! (my mum joked that since my brother had visited for a few days, then my grandparents that they would come down and visit for the rest of the week! LOL!)

arent u happy

that you don't work where my hubby does?! hehehe! Mainly because i make the naughiest things ever and send them with hubby to be eaten. That way i can get my fix of playing with chocolate, looking at chocolate.. and then taking pretty pictures to remember chocolate?! ha! These are brownies, with added chocolate (in the mixture) with dark chocolate and white chocolate ganache (ganache is usually equal parts of cream & melted chocolate)Tiffs Brownie recipe: (been making them for years not sure what coook book they came from.. think it was a kids one!)
Ingrediants: (aus metric measurements)
200g butter
1/2 cup cocoa
2 cups brown sugar
1 tsp vanilla
2 eggs
1 cup plain flour
some extra chocolate if u want

Melt butter a saucepan, add cocoa. Make sure it doesnt boil! Take off the heat. add the brown sugar (+ extra chocolate) Stir. Add the eggs quickly and stir in well. Add plain flour and stir.
grease or line a laminginton tin/square cake tin with greaseproof (make sure its not the cheap kind as u dont want to be peeling the paper off each piece!)
Place in oven at 180 deg cel for 20-25 mins. Leave to cool , then remove.
(i cut the brownies up now to avoid that icing and crumb mess u get when u cut a cake etc and the icing isnt set or the knife isnt sharp/hot enough for a clean cut)

Ganache:
equal parts of heavy cream to equal parts of chocolate.
Add the cream to a saucepan and bring to slight boil/simmer. take off heat add chocolate and whisk til melted & combined. Pour into a bowl and place in fridge. Let it cool to a spreadable consistency. It goes harder with more chocolate or softer with more cream. ;) they also use this to make truffles or truffle filling! (but with quality chocolate)ah no wonder mine turned out a bit hard, i misread and thought they were meant to cook for 40mins! doh! i guess i will make another batch next week?? cooked for the right amount of time for soft fudge brownies!

Churros a new addiction

pic stolen from:
travelblogs
I confess, i have a new addiction! not that i need another addiction! (however it might just be short lived)
A new shop opened up, and i was sick of KFC so i had churros instead..
i had dark and white chocolate covered churro loops! Tia had the milk chocolate one.. and wow a chocolate overkill! perhaps too much.. i cant stop thinking about churros but in the same thought i feel a bit sick, like i said chocolate overkill!
and im being silly thinking.. please not be deep fried.. plz.. but i dont think thats possible!Anyone else had a churro experience? the link for the franchise (only 3 stores in melb) the pic above is the milk or the dark version. we got 3 loops for $5 or $2 each.

i visited hubbys work yesterday and was thanked for the cupcakes being so 'girly' from the only woman working there 5 days a week, putting up with all the boys! hehehe.. i said they were cupcakes that alone makes them girly.. (nevermind the pink paper cases or pink chocolate..)

I went past the op-shop nearby, went thru their stuff.. alot of brand name (even Calvin Klein) clothes but alas to small! all their clothes were reduced to $3! I picked up some board shorts for hubby (of course i might wear 1 pair if i could fit into them)

Feelin spoilt part 2

all the mobile charms & capsules from the vending machine (and only 1 good guy!) 8 I love egg, 1 disney princess, 1 hello kitty surfing edition & 1 gundam something. i think we got a bit carried away we eventually ran out of $2 coins.. lol!
(pic~ more-than-likely-bootleg hello kitty & charming kitty mobile charms that i put on my bag, since my mobile is already very crowded.. it was from a small shop in a arcade i think.. buy 1 get 1 free for 2bux.. and now i cant sneak up on people and make a constant jingle where ever i go).

My mobile kitty collection by ~o0dust0o on deviantART

(pic~ look its the melbourne central cone view from swanston st from memory..)
Re the hot rods: had some more today weren't as hot.. or as hot as wicked wings, definitely differ from batch/store etc.. ^^

Re: hello kitty shop is (im sure DH would luv me to edit him out so there is no proof he looked/was there but i'm 2 lazy) the real thing, no bootleg stuff here! (it wasnt open when we 1st walked past, had to come back later)(pic~ My hello kitty membership card! and a free sticker!)

Forgot to get pocky at central, so found them cheaper in chinatown.. ^^ Got 2 boxes for gifts, but the rest is for us ;)

Unfortunately the bottleshop in chinatown had no Goshu 40 sake (finest sake) so DH went without :( but he still has his other cheaper sake! ^^ but it would have been nice, considering its the only place that we found that does/did stock it.
We walked back towards flinders, as we decided to visit Magnation (in another attempt to get DH 3d world magazine) which we did find, YAY! And i found this awesome magazine Kateigaho internation edition of KIE its all about Japan's Arts & culture! Its so hard to read!! (its in english) but its hard to read coz its overloaded with awesome stuff, pure overload! you look at the pictures or start reading one page and your mind says 'whats on the next page? why dont u stop reading and go back to drooling over each page again.. over and over'.. and argh! So i havent read much, its a seasonal magazine (Thank God) but im wondering how much 9,520Yen is as thats a 12month (4 magazines) subscription! (jus checked $91 roughly.. phew!)

(pic~ bitter dark choc truffles from patchi, 1 box is a gift ^^)

Then I think we headed home, had some lunch and I asked for a perfume! ^^ (I’ve been wanting it since I saw it on special for half its usual price!) so that’s another perfume to cross of my list ;) hehe! (perfume~ Hillary Duff with love)

(pic~ Max brenners, 1 dark Venezuelan hot choc & 1 milk Venezuelan(sp?) hot choc & the all-famous chocolate lick for Tia. I quite liked both, the milk was sweet, the dark was rich n heavy, also DH had a different theory on how to hold a hug mug by drinking from the pointiest end.. who knows?!)

(pic~ flinders st station, pidgeons & seagulls)

Got home (best train trip back from the city ever! The time flew past!), tried to have a nap.. but couldn’t fall asleep so I stayed up and played poker online (not real money) and lost $900 ouch! (thank goodness its not real! I don’t gamble with real money!!) played more games, made dinner.. ate & watched iron chef the sardine battle.. chen wins even with a sardine, sour cream icecream! Played more video games with DH now and then went to bed.

Sunday was cool! Playing video games with DH, then out shopping (for sake) played some DDR. It’s a super hot day! Like a summer day, the spring we have been having was more winter-ish since its rained a lot. Even today is overcast, but its hot! (think I got sunburnt, dammit!) talked DH into getting a Wii.. got it home and then found out it wasn’t turning on, so DH had to walk back (not happy bout that) and get another one. While out, it was surprising that Tia saw something she wanted and asked for it!(she doesn’t normally.. but has started too) Very cute.. it was a Disney princess game for the wii but its not out yet unfortunately, although a 4 year old doesn’t understand why they have a box but no game!

(pic~ street entertainer near chinatown, i promise to show u more of this guy soon! ;) Sound and all..)

Feelin soooo Spoilt!

(pic~ frankston station on the opposite side the train comes in on..looks dingy huh!)
Gosh!

Well where should i start?
LOL! Ok friday night we took the train in to the city, all nice and slow which was so nice compared to the usual rush-rush some trips/vacations/outings have.. we got into the city at 8pm, checked in at the formule 1 hotel.. to find out that it was a different room and wasnt exactly made/cleaned.. (see pic) we figured they had over-booked the standard room so we got the upgrade (just a extra bed) then we went out into the city and i took the role as 'tourist' taking photos of just about everything.. trams, lights, buildings.. that was fun! (pic~ flinders st station i think)
Had bad takeaway, KFC.. hot rods just about burnt a hole in my mouth soooo spicy! people sitting next to us were french tourists turning a shade of red eating them too. To think DH went for the interview and had the job there if his current Job came thru.. funny enough all 3 jobs DH went for, 2 offered and 1 tried to talk him out of taking the job! And the one he has now is the one where his Boss tried to talk him out of accepting the position as a production worker! ^^ God came thru for us!
(pic~chinatown)
I love being in the cities at night! Especially in sydney.. but melbourne was close!
Walked around a bit, went to chinatown... and the rest is a bit of blur.. DH and I hardly slept at all the night.. it was awful, perhaps to hot (aircon is noisy and right over the top of tia.. not to mention the aircon sucks in the curtain so they are really all BADLY designed rooms.. but for a cheapie hotel who can complain? OH and thanks to the irish guy who decided to have a chat in the hallway at some sort time in the morning when i was almost off to sleep.. ARGH!)
the next morning we set off to go shopping! Had maccas breakie one of those evil deluxe breakfast deli choice rolls ( 2 bacon, 2 sausage patties, 2 eggs on a 6inch roll).. walked to melbourne central.. and we were like... oh how many times did we walk past this place?! lol! (before finding our flat we lived in the city in cheap hotels, the same formule 1 (once it opened) & hotel enterprize which is opposite southern cross station)

So i took DH and Tia to max Brenners (no surprise there!!) and to patchi (for more chocolate browsing etc) went to Borders (to get a magazine for DH, but they were out! I got book 3 in my Rozen maiden manga series & Tia got a powerpuff girls book)
~~ pictures & more to come~~
So we went back to chinatown.. Went to the Sanrio shop!!!! HELLO!!!!!!!!!!! thats right, i got spoilt!!! The Hello kitty shop!!! *faints from prices!* i was encouraged from DH to get something (so we could leave!) and because i was getting spoilt! i got a new wallet and another wallet/pocket thing either for a camera or my palm (which i rarely use) and tia got a sheet of stickers for $5!! OW! 0.o It felt good be surrounded by hello kitty stuff (however i think testosterone and hello kitty clash, there was another couple in there and the dude said, 'i'll wait outside' i bet they hear that as much as a bra/underwear shop! hahah) I also got a hello kitty membership and yes, i cried! weird? perhaps.. LOL! (not that i care)
