7 random facts about ME.

Am i very behind in doing this? yes and i got reminded bout it today. i was tagged by Maria and reminded by Emmas blog. apologies for being uber-lazy.

1. I havent yet found anything i am allergic too.. altho i choose to be 'allergic' to seafood so people wont bug me to eat it.. im strongly against eating seafood..bleh (i cannot stand the texture of fish)

2. weve been sleeping on a inflatable mattress.. as our bed is still at mums with the rest of our stuff. ho-hum. its not too bad actually... lol

3. i hate when my neighbors decide to take their wheelie/trash bins down the noisy bumpy driveway at 3AM. NOT COOL PEOPLE!!!!!!!!!

4. im suckered in by good advertising or marketing.. (just not the people at the shops who want to stop me and get my phone number and put me into a 'free' competition or lather some hand creme on my hands with the same hands they did with 20 other people.. or who want me to get another credit card.

5. i currently own 2 pairs of shoes. cant remember if i threw out the others or if they are at mums.

6. the most south in australia i have been is frankston/Melbourne (previously was Cooma) the most north i have been is cairns! the most inland or west i have been is jerry plains nsw.

7. i have a fear of hairdressers!! (combined i guess with trusting them with my hair and then what they will charge with long hair! *dies*) i have not been to a hairdresser salon for 10yrs! i did win a makeover and the hairdresser was a friend of mine (and it wasnt done in a salon) i can do most of it myself anyways for a fraction of the cost!

These random facts appeared as a result of being 'tagged' by a lady named Maria! So now it's my job to tag others and get them to participate in this challenge. Here are the rules:
Each player starts with 7 random facts/habits about themselves. People who are tagged need to write on their own blog about their seven things, as well as these rules. You need to choose 7 people to get tagged and list their names. Don’t forget to leave them a comment telling them that they have been tagged and to read your blog!
Consider yourself tagged if your reading this and you havent done it before.

covet by Sarah jessica parker

Sarah jessica parker is one of my favourite actors, i think she looks gorgeous (as long as shes doesnt have bones showing.. not into the whole hollywood-skeleton look)

i am suckered in by any good advertising.. if i hear or see it enough times i start to believe things.. and so thats why i just have to try some things to make up my own mind!

So i tried it out. And wow, it cleared my sinus! lol! Big lemon citrus smell that eventually mellows to a nice citrus with a warm musk (but good musk) the bottle, (im big into pretty bottles my fav perfume is anna sui ) left more to be desired. the odd jewel like ring is just that a ring! u take it off and then you can spray or spritz the perfume. i liked it, not enough to buy it.

Selleys grout whitener.

ive used this product twice just to get done my bathroom and my kitchen.
My kitchen floor lacks in grout and the grout is the old 70s or 80s black grout. I like white, its easy to see when the floor is dirty/clean and dark grout just makes the kitchen look really yucky. (perhaps black grout is ok with better matched tiles than our white and brown flecked squares..)

my bathroom grout is heavily soiled with i don't know 30 years of existence and no care? 100% bleach did nothing to the grout! it was stubborn, old and staying put!

So how did the selleys stuff go?
first off this stuff 270g at woolies and k-mart goes for $7.49 (not cheap but in comparison with other stuff ive found its alright) i thought that some paste/grout would be better than some liquid cleaner as some tiles were missing grout and the grout is very low in the kitchen.

Its time consuming to do large areas.. a kitchen alone will take a day and a bathroom perhaps 2 days (walls and floor) the floor must be 100% dry.. the directions say the floor must be dry and i found that if the floor was wet the stuff didn't stick/dry very well. im afraid of washing my floors actually coz the stuff does lift very easily its like a chalky paint when dried u can scratch it and it would come off. i believe the remove the excess before 2hrs is in result of the cure stage, as in it starts to cure at 2hrs and must not be wet for another 24hrs. i say this because its very easy to get wrapped up in applying it and finishing the job all in one shot. but u really need to split up the floor/walls that need to be done so u don't go past the 2hr mark. even if u miss some of this stuff during the cleaning excess stage it doesn't matter a good scratch with a fingernail or some elbow grease and good cloth will remove it. also from clothing a good scratch and it should come clean, a good soak would also work a treat!

in all, this product doesn't smell bad or stink your house out. It comes easily off clothing, painted walls, tiles... its not hard to understand or apply.

a few tips i found handy
* use gloves definitely, be mindful of your feet, carpet and clothing
* apply in one direction e.g vertical run your finger down to smooth the line and see how much the excess can cover further.. (floor) and then run your finger across the opposite e.g horizontal and you should make the excess fill the horizontal line
* when doing a floor and its hard to apply to the areas underneath the bench/cupboards leave them for last. when you are able to roll up the tube a bit and its smaller it makes the job of getting the tube to apply the whitener in those places much easier.
* after applying smooth/smudge any excess on the tiles till its smooth. remember u have to clean off the excess later.. the higher and more excess on the tile the longer and harder it is to remove when your exhausted! lol
in all this stuff really needs a actual sealer in my opinion, something to keep it from not being removed when cleaning your floor.
its absolutely amazing in the small grouts of walls! and around the shower so im not sure why it does poorly on the floor. it does not whiten as to say the grout, it more or less replaces your grout with this stuff over the top. if u scratch this stuff u will see that ugly floor again!
Its a great workout, will work your butt, arms and thighs to the highest degree (for squatting for hours)
a great quick fix solution to making your grout whiter!..

Caramel slice

i dont have my usual recipe on me at the moment, so i attempted this one which is similar (theres not many that are actually different) it was great. a friend of mine that i made them for occasionally told me she freezes them 1) they last longer as her son and hubby cant find them, 2) i guess its harder to eat quickly.. am i am yet to try this out.. so i think i will give it a shot!
here is the link
Makes 18.
Ingredients

* 1 cup plain flour, sifted
* 1/2 cup brown sugar
* 1/2 cup desiccated coconut
* 125g butter, melted
*
Caramel
* 395g can sweetened condensed milk
* 2 tablespoons golden syrup
* 50g butter, chopped
*
Topping
* 200g dark chocolate, chopped
* 1/4 cup pouring cream

Method

1. Preheat oven to 180°C. Line base and sides of a 3cm deep, 16.5cm x 26cm slice pan with baking paper, allowing 2cm overhang at both long ends.
2. Combine flour, sugar and coconut in a bowl. Add butter and stir to combine. Press mixture into base of pan. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes or until light golden. Set aside for 10 minutes.
3. Make caramel: Combine condensed milk, golden syrup and butter in an 8-cup capacity heatproof, microwave-safe bowl. Microwave, uncovered, on HIGH (100%) for 3 to 4 minutes, stirring every minute, or until light golden and thickened slightly. Pour warm caramel over warm base. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes or until edges are deep golden. Transfer to wire rack. Set aside to cool for 1 hour.
4. Make topping: Place chocolate and cream in a heatproof, microwave-safe bowl. Microwave on HIGH (100%) for 1 1/2 to 2 minutes, stirring every minute with a metal spoon, or until smooth. Spread over cooled caramel. Set aside until firm. Cut into squares. Serve.

Notes & tips

Variation: For a nutty variation, you could add 1 cup chopped roasted hazelnuts to the caramel before pouring over the base in step 3.

Busy. Busy

worst pizza ever... well most recently
Frankston dominoes
usually we order 2 pizzas on rare occasions.. 1-2 a month.. usually they are very busy, late. and often thin and cripsy pizzas get a burnt ring all around the outside rim..
last night was a winner, a toni pepperoni that looks like they ran out of pepperoni. if i had wanted a pizza that looked like this i would have tried it myself or chosen a local joint.. severly lacking in pepperoni! bad pizza rant over. There has to be a better pizza place around here..

Ive been so busy! gosh... this week ive spent 1 day out shopping with all of Tia's tantrums and 1.5hrs at macdonalds watching her play... my god i was so happy to see my hubby at the end of that day! exhausting!

Ive been on a winter cleaning spree.. bleh! the window frames in our room had turned green! ew.. glad i decided on looking if they needed cleaning!

and to put the icing on the cake, so to speak. ive had this nasty cold.. my first cold all winter and this one bites! its chesty, wheezy sometimes sneezy, itchy in the back of my throat cough/cold. so i havent been feeling the greatest or very energetic.. bleh..

today i spent putting white grout on the kitchen floor using this..
and so my arms, hands, thighs and neck are killing me! *yawn* and zapped all my time and energy.

also i have no idea what this is.. its up on the ceiling above the kitchen sink and one in the bathroom, i think its for ventilation but then these 2 rooms already have fans.. so if anyone knows what they are/do lemme know.

Transformers XBOX 360

Havent finished it yet. a almost free-roam play(like grand theft auto but more restrictions and the only time you get to beat up deceptacons are in the missions.), with options to re-do the prev missions and stages.

You play the transformers (no choice as to who, bumblebee, optimus prime, ironhide,jazz so far).

The game has the same overall plot as the movie.(but with some changes, obviously to shorten the game. correct me if im wrong but the voices dont sound the same and 'mikela' in the game looks a bit odd, sam however, looks fine. The amvs in the game aren't from the movie and dont have a lesser graphic quality than the movie. But the upside is they didnt cheat and gave us some more extra transformer footage and not jus cut and paste)

I found the game-play a bit frustrating, i wanted more hp, more grunt.. true i didnt want to kill every autobot the same way over and over with one attack.. but so far alot of the deceptacons cant bit hit by melee or you have to stun them by throwing a bus, lamp-post, giant hamburger, bus etc.. you can pick up just about everything, my fave is police! who the hell do they think they are picking on a autobot? im trying to save the world here, give me a break! (oh pick up and throw btw.)

so yeah you have to stun them before you can hit them melee or you can only kill them by throwing things at them over and over.

The missions have little room for error, never fear there are no lives.. no gameover just 'mission failed' and that means you have to re-start it and try that mission again.

You can unlock special features, movies, gallery, transformer character information, play mini games. You can transform! whoot! Will please any transformer fan!

big brain academy training nintendo DS

Review: Games that make people think are quite popular lately!
The ultimate function is the test, which randomly choses 1 mini game from each class; think, analyze, compute,memorize & identify and then comes up with how much your brain weighs, a grade and what occupation your brain suits. Right now mine is a C+ a musician at 1032g!

(i've been dumber e.g a fashion designer, Shakespeare! lolz) Each class/lesson comes in 3 difficulty options, easy,med and hard. Medals are rewarded for different scores bronze, silver, gold and platinum. I find this game quite a challenge and i suck at the maths compute and think classes, but i can ace the memorize and identify. im pretty sure, if u look in the blue hexagon, you can see a yellow line? thats my highest score outline and the red area in the hexagon was my current score for that exam ><
