Dishes

What a picture!! glad its not my kitchen, and im quite glad i've never had the job as a dish hand either! Do you hate doing the dishes? I know maria does! lol ;) I hate em too. Im the only one who does them too!
I slept so good last night. I apparently dreamt that i had done half the dishes that were waiting for me (due to a lazy weekend!) as i could have sworn i did them! But no, all the dishes were still all waiting there! drat!!!
I'd heard previous raves about morning fresh, a concentrated dish washing detergent. Im used to the cheap stuff obviously where you have to use a fair squirt! But if i do that with the concentrate, theres bubbles everywhere and if i dont rinse the cups you can taste it when you drink from a newly washed/dried cup! yuk! (i remember ages ago hearing about the barbie doll twins who squirted dishwashing liquid over half their meal, so they wouldnt eat it?! crazy!)

So do you use a expensive brand that does well? or a cheapie that even tho u go thru a bucket of it, you cant taste any residue? Or i suppose your a lucky duck with a dishwasher ;)

I use "Blast" - Sensitive. As I've tried the lemon and pink grapefruit and other scents -I've often wondered just how 'sensitive' detergents can be?? You get "20% more at Woolworths & Safeway if you buy your "Blast" there. It's a concentrate like Palmolive and Morning Fresh and just as good. Not a cheapy! I always use a concentrate. I always, always rinse my dishes in clean water before putting them on the rack to dry. I see many of my friends don't do it and I don't get it.. I don't understand going from the soapy dish water to the drying rack..I wouldn't feel the dishes were clean. That's just me. I've used cheaper dish detergents years ago.. but yeah.. I need to buy the cheaper stuff every week..whereas with Blast.. in my current place I don't have a dishwasher and I've now gone through my 2nd Blast bottle in 3 months. When I was with hubby and we had a dishwasher.. I also washed the occasional few dishes in the sink.. and some things shouldn't go in the dishwasher.. And I needed detergent for the benches still. It would take about 5 months to go through a whole bottle of detergent. The colour of the detergent would fade from the sun.

I buy brands *very much* in the supermarket.. I'm always after high quality. However.. now that I'm poorer.. I've started buying plain label facial tissues and I'm not caring about how plain the box looks. I always buy plain label serviettes.. plain white.. they do the job and I use them every day, so I can't afford to be buying "Decor" fancy brand. I don't buy cheap loo paper. The most "roughing it" I get with that is "Wondersoft" but it's been a while since I have bought that.

And I digress.. so I better stop myself there!

So many times I've felt like picking up the Yellow Pages and seeing if anyone from an agency would come over to do my dishes. I can't afford it..but I'd also be embarrased. I've just wished I could do it though!

Even when I had a dishwasher Tiffany.. The thing still has to be unloaded and loaded.. and the benches cleaned..and the non-dishwasher things washed by hand.. It's still a chore.. and laborious (for me anyway). Some people say they hate vacuuming..and I don't get that.. I'd happily vacuum every single day if I didn't have to do dishes! :-P
